The UTX-85 (15% smaller than an Ultratech or 85% the size of one) dual action out the front automatic knife from Microtech makes an even friendlier every day carry option. This version has an OD Green contoured handle and Two-Tone Black M390 Drop Point-styled blade.

Microtech has updated and refined the UTX-85 model. It features improved ergonomics, with rounded handle faces, and patches of grooves along the sides to ensure excellent grip. The firing button has been redesigned to increase surface contact for effective engagement, and the glass breaker has a ball-tip set in the trip-angle pattern base to increase its everyday carry manners.

Based on the Ultratech platform, the UTX-85 is scaled down to 85% of its length. The UTX-85 is an appealing option for those who prefer a smaller EDC knife and value Microtech's high-performance out-the-front action and exceptional build quality.

The Blade: Equipped with a two-tone black/satin finish, the drop point has a plain cutting edge. The drop point is super useful and built from edge retaining M390 super steel. The grinds and fullers have a black DLC coating while the flats and spine were left satin. The 3.125 inch blade features a double action opening and retracting mechanism. Simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear. The action is smooth and fast. 

The Handle: Smooth, OD Green coated 6061-T6 aluminum has improved rounded edges creating not only a comfortable feel in-hand but a smooth transition in and out of your pocket. There are several areas of machine-grooved texturing around the outsides aiding in grip. This lighter more ergonomic grip is easy on the hands and eyes. Blade: Equipped with a rugged Apocalyptic (blasted and tumbled) finish, the Tanto blade has a single razor sharp plain edge. The Tanto blade is made from premium, American,M390 Stainless steel. The 3.125 inch blade features a double action opening and retracting mechanism. Simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear. The action is smooth and fast.

CTS-204P: A highly wear resistant, powder metallurgy stainless tool steel, the steel contains a large volume of extremely hard vanadium carbides which provide excellent wear resistance. CTS-204P has some of the highest chromium content of a high-vanadium stainless steel currently available. The chromium-rich matrix provides outstanding corrosion resistance. Analogs to CTS-204P include CPM-20CV and Bohler M390.
