 Iconic Fixed Karambit Trainer

Details

Designed by Bastinelli Knives in collaboration with Microtech, the Iconic is an interpretation of the classic Filipino Karambit. This trainer is a non-sharpened blade of stainless steel that is perfect for developing your skill and refining technique before employing a live blade. This version comes with a stonewashed finish, black G10 handle scales and a right hand carry Kydex sheath.

Blade: The skeletonized "blade" section of this piece mimics the geometry of a live blade while being unsharpened for safety while learning various Karambit techniques. The spine of the blade is crowned and tumbled while the flats are finished in a rugged stonewashed finish.

Handle: The full tang support blasted and contoured black G10 handle scales attached via Torx hardware and milled with a diamond texture at the peak of the palm swell of the scales for added grip. The crowned spine is proud to the scales added a more contoured feel without increasing the overall thickness for carry. The end ring is well finished and allows for all the traditional Karambit techniques.

Sheath: Carries via a molded Kydex sheath with large Tek Lok.

L.U.D.T.®

As pioneer of the Microtech® folding knife line, the U.D.T. has evolved to be an exceptional combination of form and function. The first prototype models featured rubber Kraton™ inlays and were available in small, medium, and large sizes. These models were later consolidated to a single size, featuring a grooved, contoured aluminum handle with jimping along the top of the handle that carries onto the spine of the blade. The L.U.D.T.® boasts an explosive deployment mechanism not commonly found in a knife of this size.

The L.U.D.T. (Large Underwater Demolition Team) out the side automatic knife model from Microtech has been a favorite among Spec Ops and first responders for nearly 20 years. This version features a black partially serrated drop point blade and a grooved black aircraft grade aluminum handle.

The Blade: The shape of the LUDT is all about utility offering just over three inches of part serrated cutting edge and a piercing pointy tip. It's great for every day slicing, slashing, tearing or penetration cuts whenever called upon.  A little over an inch of notching on the crowned spine creates a welcomed thumb ramp. Built from edge retaining Elmax steel with a tactical non-reflective black coated finish. Shaving sharp from the start and firing via a single push button actuator. Simply press the button on the front scale near the pivot to deploy the blade out the side of the handle. Press it in again and fold the blade back in to close. The action is smooth and fast. 

The Handle: Constructed of aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum creating lightweight dependability and black finished. It has a slight notched finger choil below the pivot along with machined grooves and notches abound to ensure a solid grip in any environment. The LUDT is fitted with Microtech's gray proprietary hardware and pocket clip. A small black lanyard is attached. 

 

Each LUDT is individually serialized and dated on the front of the blade.
