The Inkosi is a new family of folding knives that will claim the position of Chief alongside the iconic Sebenza. The Inkosi features sandblasted handles, a tumbled finish drop point blade, 303 stainless steel hardware, and exterior accents in the Reeve signature anodized blue titanium. Built with handcrafted care at a production level, the Inkosi continues to push the characteristics of the Integral Lock®, blade strength, pivot and lock tolerances as well as over all ergonomics. Available in left handed versions at no additional cost
Canvas micarta is an extremely durable fibrous material designed to bloom when in contact with moisture, making the Inkosi with micarta an exceptional choice for an every day carry. Available with a drop point, tanto, or insingo blade. All models are available with a dedicated left or right-handed orientation.
The Blade: The Tanto blade profile has a double hollow ground main bevel and is a total workhorse of a blade profile. The S35VN stainless steel blade has a stonewashed (tumbled) finish.
The Frame: The inlaid Inkosis offer a different look as well as a different feel in the hand. The inlay pieces provide more of a radius than the traditional flat sides of the Inkosi. They are fit into precision machined pockets on each sale and secured. The micarta is natural canvas and in keeping with the 'working knife' theme, the handle is sandblasted.
About this model: The Inkosi (Zulu word for 'chief') is the product of tried and proven design elements that have been continuously refined for over 30 years . With the Inkosi Chris Reeve Knives continues the evolution of the Integral Lock folder. Never content to rest on past success, Chris Reeve Knives has raised the bar again. Some of the highlights include:
-Stability to the locking mechanism
-Larger, more stout pivot coupling
-Oversized phosphor bronze washers are the same size -front and back, locate off the stop pin, and have extra-large grease pockets
-Upgraded, beefier, stop pin
-Blade introduces CRK’s Large Hollow Grind technology on a smaller knife and is 8% thicker than the Small Sebenza 21
-Standard double thumb lugs
-Pocket clip is mounted so that it rests on the spine rather than the lock bar, eliminating the possibility of pressure on the lock bar
-Ceramic ball lock bar interface. This does not mean just a ceramic detent, but rather a ceramic ball that actually acts as the interface between the lock bar and the blade tang.
-With its 2.75 blade length, the Inkosi is legal to carry in most locations.
